SPARKS! PROGRAM

How Sparks! works:
Sparks! Participants are 13-year-old campers (youth 14-15 years old should look at joining Ignite, and youth ages 16+ should look at applying for a summer job). Ideally, participants will have been a part of Camp Arnold’s youth camping program, though that is not mandatory. Applicants must be able to show that they are ready to take the next step in learning to be a leader. They must be able to demonstrate that they can make responsible choices, follow the directions of others, and be trusted to follow rules and policies. Camp partners with your parents and *Youth Pastor to help you move forward in your leadership journey. (* You don’t have to be attending a church to participate, but you need to be willing to learn and grow spiritually at camp).
Sparks! dates for 2025 is the week of July 28 – August 1. You may need to find your own transportation to camp from your parents or youth pastor.

Details:
Sparks! is a hybrid program with participants spending a portion of their week as campers, participating in the regular summer program, and a portion of their week serving, learning and growing through specific programming and opportunities. Sparks! participants will have in-depth Bible study times, they will help serve in different areas of camp, they will assist in some programming, and they will have opportunities to just have fun. Sparks! is a small group of only 8-10 youth each summer.
As a part of our Leadership Pipeline the Sparks! participants will be in a great position to apply for our Ignite! Program the following summer. In Ignite! there is an opportunity to earn a stipend while you learn and grow.
Goals:
Some of our overall goals in the Sparks! Program are:
- To Learn new skills and life lessons by serving alongside dynamic Christian staff. To learn how to lead – with intentional teaching from guest speakers.
- To Grow in their knowledge of the Word and in applying biblical lessons to life.
- To Do by serving others in our camp setting and at home. Acquiring new skills and knowledge while helping others.
