Timberlake Program Staff
Program Director: 21 years or older
Responsible for the planning, leadership, and execution of all Timberlake camp programs. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to the staff, oversee Timberlake staff, and coordinate scheduling components with the Tahoma and Day Camp programs. This position requires that you be comfortable getting up in front of a crowd. Experience in leadership in organized camping is a must.
Assistant Program Director: 21 years or older
Assists Program Director with planning and scheduling of all camp programs. Leadership skills are necessary as well as the ability and creativity to initiate and execute programs. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to the staff. This position requires that you be comfortable getting up in front of a crowd. Experience in leadership in organized camping
Archery Director: 20 years or older
Provide and develop a safe and innovative archery program teaching campers archery skills, self-esteem and personal safety. Must have leadership ability and be a certified archery instructor or equivalent.
Christian Education Director: 21 years or older
Provide meaningful Christian Education programs for the campers and staff. Plan and lead chapel activities, Bible studies, assist counselors with their daily devotional time and disciple staff. Experience leading Christian Education Programs.
Christian Education Assistant: 18 years or older
Must be creative and have leadership ability. Assist the Christian Education Director with implementing meaningful Christian Education programs for campers and staff.
Challenge Course Director: 21 years or older
Create a safe environment and meaningful program utilizing the challenge course Elements. Must be able to guide campers through a challenge course experience focusing on trust, communication and problem solving. Must facilitate activities that help campers grow in their knowledge in self awareness, making positive choices, self esteem cooperation and their place in God’s kingdom. Train staff assisting program. Keep records and log books up to date. Current Basic First Aid and CPR Certification. Previous challenge course experience and documented training preferred.
Assistant Challenge Course Director: 18 years old or older
Assist the Challenge Course Director in providing a safe and meaningful Challenge Course Program. Must have a working knowledge of challenge course equipment.
Craft Director: 18 years or older
Must be creative and able to lead the craft program. Provide and develop an innovative craft program which will encourage campers to experiment and explore their own creativity. Must have patience and the ability to teach and demonstrate age appropriate crafts.
Literacy Director: 18 years old or older
Plan and develop curriculum for the Literacy Program as a component of daily camp life. Prepare and supervise the weekly book fairs. Plan and carry out and elective class and free time activities. Must be creative and flexible.
Waterfront Director: 21 years or older
Must have 2 years experience guarding a pool or lakefront, 1 year managing a pool. Responsible for health and safety of both campers and staff while at the waterfront. Supervise waterfront staff. Responsibilities also include the supervision and the maintenance of the pool, boathouse and lake. It is imperative that you have knowledge in cleaning, maintaining, and treating the pool. You are responsible to plan all activities that take place at all waterfront areas. Must be advanced lifesaving ARC, CPR and First Aid Cert and WSI certified.
Lifeguard: 16 years or older
Assist the Waterfront Director in providing creative waterfront activities. Provide constant watch and supervision of campers and staff while using the pool or lake and maintain a safe waterfront. Current advanced lifesaving, First Aid and CPR Certification.
Maintenance Crew Chief: 21 years or older
Ability to supervise others and must possess a valid driver’s license. Provide supervision and guidance to the maintenance crew - cleaning buildings, keeping grounds in order and working on special projects. Prepare daily devotions for the maintenance staff.
Dining Room Hostess: 21 years or older
Responsible to supervise, disciple and encourage the dining room staff. Create a pleasant dining atmosphere for staff and campers. Responsible to provide a daily devotional to the wait staff. Must have a Washington Food Handlers Permit.
Camp Nurse: 21 years or older
Experience or background in school or public health nursing preferred.Plan and carry out a total program of health and safety for the camp community. Guide counselors in their responsibilities for their campers health care. Administer all medications and treatments according to physician’s order and keep all records. RN and licensed to practice in Washington State.
Nurse's Aide: 19 years or older
Assist the Camp Nurse in planning and carrying out a total program of health and safety for the camp community. Guide counselors in their responsibilities for their campers health care. Administer all medications and treatments according to physician’s order and keep all records. Must poses an EMT or LPN or equivalent.
Canteen Director: 18 years or older
Responsible for managing the camp store, and the Espresso stand at camp. Assists in helping other Program areas as needed.
Timberlake Counseling Staff
Unit Leader: 21 years or older
Good communication and organizational skills. Responsible to mentor and support 4-5 counselors per unit. Responsible for creating and implementing age appropriate evening programs, discipline of campers, and comforting homesickness, Also support and contribute to program planning as needed by the Program Director. Minimum 2 years counseling experience.
Counselor: 18 years or older
Provide daily care, guidance and supervision for a group of 8 - 12 campers with responsibility for their safety, health, program involvement and spiritual development. Prepare group games, elective classes and daily devotional times with the campers. Camp experience preferable.
Counselor in Training: 16 years or older
Assist the counselor in providing daily care for 8-12 campers. This position is geared to gain experience and knowledge of all phases of counseling and camp programming. Must be willing to learn and accept responsibilities.
Timberlake Support Staff
Waiter/Waitress: 16 years or older
Serving food efficiently and courteously, clear tables, maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the dining hall and support and attend all camp programming. Must obtain a Washington Food Handlers Permit.
Maintenance Worker: 16 years and older
Assist in the general upkeep and maintenance of camp support, attend and participate in all camp programming.
Summer Cook: 21 years or older
Provide nutritious meals in accordance with USDA Summer Food Service Program
standards for groups of 200 or more. Provide supervision and direction for kitchen. Must obtain a Washington State Food Handlers Card. Institutional Cooking experience preferred.
Pantry Worker: 17 years or older
Assist in the preparation and work along side the cooks to provide nutritious meals for campers and staff. Support and attend all camp programming. Must obtain a Washington Food Handlers Permit.
Summer Office Assistant: 18 years or older
Assist the full time office staff with camper registrations, answering phone calls, and general clerical work. Support all program areas by inputting data, checking emails, and performing any other summer program needs.
Tahoma Camp Staff
Tahoma Program Director: 21 years or older
Responsible for overseeing all areas of Camp Tahoma programming including but not limited to backpacking, challenge courses, meals, daily teaching and devotions, evening programs, etc. Provide direction, supervision and leadership to the staff. Coordinate scheduling components of the daily camp schedule. Basic First Aid, CPR, WFA preferred & WA State Food Handlers Permit. Must be willing to be flexible and have a passion for wilderness camping. Previous experience in wilderness programming preferred.
Tahoma Assistant Program Director: 21 years or older
Assist the Wilderness Director in giving supervision to programming of Camp Tahoma. Provide encouragement and support to the staff. Lead and assist all areas of Camp Tahoma programming. Experience in leadership roles with teenagers. Must be willing to be flexible and have a passion for wilderness camping. Basic First Aid, CPR & WA State Food Handlers Permit. Previous experience in wilderness programming preferred.
Tahoma Counselor: 19 years or older
Provide daily care, guidance, spiritual development and supervision for a group of 6-8 teenagers (13 - 16 yrs) with responsibility for their safety, health and program involvement. Lead and participate in outdoor living skill activities (backpacking, challenge course, etc.) Lead cabin devotions, small group discussions, and strive to know each camper personally. Must be willing to be flexible and have a passion for wilderness camping. Basic First Aid & CPR. Must have previous experience working with teens.
Day Camp Staff
Day Camp Program Director: 21 years or older
Responsible for the direction, leadership, and execution of all day camp programs. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to the staff, oversee daily camper registration, and coordinate scheduling components with the main camp schedule. This position requires that you be comfortable getting up in front of a crowd. Experience in leadership in organized camping
Assistant Program Director/Head Day Camp Counselor: 21 years or older
Assists Day Camp Program Director with planning and scheduling of all Day camp programs. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to the staff and providing daily care, guidance and supervision for a group of 10-25 campers. Experience in leadership in organized camping
Day Camp Counselor: 18 years or older
Provide daily care, guidance and supervision for a group of 8 - 12 campers with responsibility for their safety, health, program involvement and spiritual development. Prepare group games, elective classes and daily devotional times with the campers. Previous day camp experience preferable.
Traveling VBS Staff
Traveling VBS Director: 21 years or older
Responsible for the direction, leadership, and execution of the Traveling VBS program. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to VBS Team, oversee VBS programs, and coordinate scheduling components with church leaders. This position requires that you be comfortable getting up in front of a crowd and teaching in small group settings. You will also be required to lead organized youth programs and a team of young adults. You will additionally be required to drive a 15 passenger van to transport the Traveling VBS team to the different locations in the Northwest Division.
Assistant VBS Director/VBS Counselor: 21 years or older
Assists VBS Program Director with planning and scheduling of all Traveling VBS programs. You are responsible to provide encouragement and support to the staff and providing daily care, guidance and supervision for the Traveling VBS Team. You will also be responsible for teaching in small group settings and provide leadership in the absence of the Traveling VBS Director. You will additionally be required to drive a 15 passenger van to transport the Traveling VBS team to the different locations in the Northwest Division.
VBS Counselor: 18 years or older
Provide daily care, guidance and supervision for VBS classes with responsibility for their safety, health, program involvement and spiritual development. Prepare group games, elective classes and daily devotional times in VBS classes. Previous experience with VBS preferred. |
